Oboke is a rocky area located in the middle reaches of the Yoshino River.
　These rugged rock formations are "crystalline schist," which was accreted to the continent during the subduction of oceanic plates from the Jurassic to Cretaceous periods of the Mesozoic era, then pushed deep underground and recrystallized under immense pressure.
