【Trekking & View】 Fukushima's most beautiful cliff / Uma-no-se Cape, Okuma Town (Fukushima pref.)
The clear geological layers, the smooth cliff face as if carved with a knife?when I first saw this cliff, I was stunned by its beauty! This photo was taken at the end of the 20th century with a cheap digital camera, so it's blurry, but unfortunately, this is the only photo I have of this cliff.
The Pacific coast from Fukushima Prefecture to Ibaraki Prefecture boasts many magnificent cliffs, but I believe this Uma-no-se Cape is the most beautiful of them all. It's truly astonishing to think that such a beautiful cliff was created by the power of nature itself; its overwhelming force is awe-inspiring.
Because this area is less than 5 kilometers from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, it remains inaccessible as of November 2023 due to the accident caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011.
However, I believe that one day I will be able to see this magnificent scenery firsthand.
I believe that this place will recover someday. And I want to visit here again and stand on the cliff! (Nihedon @ KesaranPasaran Lab)
