yTown & Gourmetz@ Searching for turtles in "Former Furukawa Garden" (Tokyo pref.)

The former Furukawa Garden, home to Baron Toranosuke Furukawa of the Furukawa Zaibatsu, is a "heart-fluttering Western-style mansion," but this time, I simply went to look for turtles in the garden's pond!

Incidentally, this mansion (which is open to visitors) is the epitome of the blend of Japanese and Western design and is a building full of "secret base vibes." (Most people would probably be more interested in the mansion than the turtles, though.) @(Nihedon @ KesaranPasaran Lab)

š I finally found a single turtle. š
Almost all of them appear to be Mississippi red-eared sliders.

Actually, I wandered around the pond for nearly two hours that day, but I couldn't find a single turtle other than the one in the photo above. And even that one turtle disappeared towards the end of the day...

However, it seems the survival rate of the Japanese pond turtle is lower than I had anticipated before starting this search. I will continue my search for the Japanese pond turtle, the only species endemic to our country (Honshu).
