yTown & Gourmetz@ Searching for turtles in "Rikugien Garden" (Tokyo pref.)

"Rikugien" is apparently a "stroll garden with artificial hills and a pond" created in the late Edo period (I don't understand what that means).

Leaving aside what a "stroll garden with artificial hills and a pond" means, I once again walked around the pond in this garden in circles, solely to look for Japanese pond turtles. @(Nihedon @ KesaranPasaran Lab)

š Of course, there are turtles! š

So, I wandered around the pond at Rikugien Garden for about an hour, but all I could find were the five red-eared sliders shown in the photo above.

I wonder if there are no Japanese pond turtles here at all, or if I just happened not to find any. Well, it's such a big pond, so I'd like to visit again another day and look for them. Searching for pond turtles is perfect rehabilitation for a gout sufferer in their sixties!
